Trunk Show from Quilt Walk

We had a trunk show each day and they were great.  The first one was Cory Blunt from Chitter Chatter designs.
This is one of her first quilts, she made for her mom it is called antitude.  She said  it was really hard before it was easy to make circles.

Baby bugs was made for shop hop.

Cory said she loves Nursery rhymes and made this one for her mom, I guess mom made the comment that it wasn't very colorful and so she took it back.  (I hope I got this story right)
This one was made for her mom when she was approaching the time of an empty nest.

with this quilt Cory began doing her own quilting.

I think she said the idea for this ribbon came to her at night and she just couldn't wait to put it together.

This is her family tree quilt.  It has pictures that can be taken off and moved.
Cory began making cute little baby dresses like the ones her grandmother made.
She began this as an embroidery along that she sponsered.
This is from think a BOM but she changed it up by adding coats the couple because we do live in Utah.
Very  Berry.
More tomorrow!

Pulled Pork Sandwiches from Quilt Walk and an antique quilt with a story to tell

Our lunches were so good at  festival this year.  Pat said she got two of these recipes from the Mel's Kitchen Cafe site. I asked her how she came to find this site because it has delicious recipes.  She said that she used to teach Mel piano lessons.  Kind of fun to have that connection.

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
INGREDIENTS
  • 3 to 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder (I’ve also used boneless pork loin – not tenderloin – but pork loin with good results)
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon hickory flavored liquid smoke
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
DIRECTIONS
  1. Rinse the pork shoulder and pat dry. Rub salt and pepper over the pork and place in a slow cooker. Add water and liquid smoke. Cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, until the pork is very tender.
  2. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and discard the remaining liquid. Shred the pork using a couple of forks. Place the meat back in the slow cooker along with the barbecue sauce and continue to cook for another 20-30 minutes until the pork is hot again. Serve on buns with extra barbecue sauce.

Judy Henrie's quilt, maybe you remember when she was at sew night trying to pick her colors.  I think she succeeded.

One of Diannes great quilts.

Shannon and Lauretta both made quilts like this.  I saw some of the younger ladies eyeing this.

these next two were made By Elsie Hatch for two of her grandchildren.

I this this is Angela's and the stars are

belong to the lady who had the quilters choice quilt, Sandy Crabtree.
